Bear Creek Timberwrights, Inc. began in November 1996, with a group of highly experienced and skilled craftsmen. Our personal dedication to reviving the craft of timber framing is reflected throughout the Northwest, in our wide range of completed projects to date. These uniquely detailed projects have resulted in a deep body of knowledge and positive teamwork, demonstrated without exception, in the craftsmanship at Bear Creek Timberwrights.

Our office and shop are located in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley of Western Montana about 40 miles south of Missoula. You can find us in the foothills just West of Victor. We have participated in a wide range of timber framing projects. These include homes, barns, churches, commercial buildings, visitor centers, gazebos, arbors, bridges, and many others which call for timbers, sensitive design, and careful craftsman.

Bear Creek Timberwrights offers a unique blend of the latest computer technology for custom design, with old-world craftsmanship of traditional joinery. Timber framing offers incredible design flexibility, and provides spacious living with simple rustic elegance. We gladly provide full architectural design services, or will work with an architect of your choice. We excel in providing attention to detail, and enjoy bringing your ideas to life.

Bear Creek Timberwrights offers three options to incorporate a timber frame into your project:

* A traditional mortise and tenon frame available in several species of wood and finishes, enclosed with structural insulated panels. We work with your architect or can provide design and engineering services.

* A partial or hybrid timber frame where only a portion of the home has exposed timbers. The balance of the home is built conventionally.

* Timber trusses can be used to enhance any project. Trusses may be built in a variety of styles, ranging from Gothic to Oriental.
